The mission of The Heather J. Kwiate Foundation is to create positive change in the lives of those impacted by domestic violence, to raise awareness, and to develop sustainable strategies for prevention. The Foundation provides a network that includes access to safe-havens for the abused and their families. By empowering them through emotional support, emergency funding, job skills training, and other educational opportunities we strive to give help and hope to those in need in an effort to End the Silence and STOP the VIOLENCE!

Heather's Voice Foundation Transitions Into a New Phase

Heather J. Kwiate
Please share this blog with your friends, family, and community members. Your help is needed, whether through posting information for us, hands-on work at area shelters, research, fund raising, we need all the help we can get. According to the Domestic Violence Statistics, a woman is beaten or assaulted every nine seconds in the US, every second we do nothing is another second closer to someone becoming another victim. The statistics are staggering and unacceptable.

Since the launch of the HeathersVoice.org Foundation in March of 2011, we have made great strides to reach out to more victims of domestic violence, the family members and friends who love them, and to those who are looking for a way to help stop these heinous acts of violence. In the past nine months, we have hosted numerous fund raising & awareness events, engaged more volunteers to assist us in our mission, and have helped fulfill the needs of shelters that house victims and their children.

Countless hours have been spent, numerous people have stepped in to further our reach, and we have been grateful for the constant support of community leaders. As a Foundation, we are growing and expanding our mission through program development, research, and direct work with victims familyies, survivors, and organizations with similar missions, to educate the public about domestic violence and to assist in the prevention of violence.

Some surprising announcements will be coming in the new year as we continue to progress and gain further support of our friends, family, and community for which we are endlessly thankful. It will be an exciting new year for all of us and hope that you will continue to follow us and spread the word about the Foundation and the work we continue to do.

While we are very happy with the progress made this far, we realize only just begun on what is sure to be a long road to causing permanent change in the lives of others. Please stay tuned for upcoming announcements on our next event as well as some fabulous news regarding the Foundation as a whole.

"Action and reaction, ebb and flow, trial and error, change - this is the rhythm of living. Out of our over-confidence, fear; out of our fear, clearer vision, fresh hope. And out of hope, progress."~ Bruce Barton
