The mission of The Heather J. Kwiate Foundation is to create positive change in the lives of those impacted by domestic violence, to raise awareness, and to develop sustainable strategies for prevention. The Foundation provides a network that includes access to safe-havens for the abused and their families. By empowering them through emotional support, emergency funding, job skills training, and other educational opportunities we strive to give help and hope to those in need in an effort to End the Silence and STOP the VIOLENCE!

Heather was a mother, a daughter, a granddaughter, a niece, a cousin, and a friend to a countless number of people. She was my younger cousin, a 23 year old mother of two beautiful little girls. Her life was taken from us as a result of domestic violence; her children are now left without a mother, and her parents without a daughter. In memory of Heather and her daughters, Heather’s Voice Foundation was created to provide resources, education, and assistance to those affected by domestic violence. Even as time goes on, it does not get easier, the pain does not fade away, it hurts just the same as the day I found out. This tragedy has changed my life forever; I am left with this void in my life, this hole in my heart, and this sadness that will never go way. There is not an hour that goes by that I don’t think of Heather, there is not a minute that passes that I don’t feel the pain, there is not one night that I haven’t woken in tears. I will never be able to hold Heather in my arms again and tell her how much I love her. That’s why I am asking you, if you know someone that is affected by domestic violence, please help them before it’s too late. You have the chance to get this person the help that they need, you have a chance to save their lives, you have the chance that I no longer have. Don’t let another victim of domestic violence end in the way Heather’s life did, stand up and fight for the ones you love. It only takes one person to make a difference; it only takes one person to save a life.
