Leadership for a Better World ~ Understanding the Social Change Model of Leadership Development by Komives, Wagner, and Associates.
This book is an excellent resource for those who want to be inspired and inspire others to be leaders of social change. By utilizing the skills in this book, we have been able to bring our mission for Heather's Voice into the public eye. It is a great book that defines what a leader is and is not, how and what the "7 C's of Leadership" are and how they will help you attain your goals.

Uncle Robert,
I wish we were all on the same side of the country. Today is a very sad day for us all. I am sorry that you are hurting so much.
Aunt Linda has had her ups and downs today. Even though she is up north and I am in Atlanta, I'm keeping tabs on her (Hi Linda!).
I hope that our family heals from this one day, but,I'm not sure that ever really happens.
Losing my cousin in such a tragic way has caused me to look at my own daughters more closely, to work on Heather's Voice Foundation, and to think about all of my family every day, no matter how far away you are.
The only thing I have to offer is, that I love you and all of my family and I will do all I can to help our family move along together, because we will never be able to move "past" the loss of Heather.
I wish you were here, or I was there, or that we were all in the same place at least! I miss you.

A few months ago, I read the "A Child Called 'It'" series by Dave Pelzer. It's basically about a young child being abused by his mother. While I read this awful story about this poor child, I never stopped to think what would happen if anyone in my family were to fall victim of any kind of violence.
Heather is my second cousin and I would do anything to have her back.
If you're being abused, I plead for you to get help right away. I know, you might be scared, frightened, but you need help. No matter who you are, you do not deserve to be neglected or abused. Please get help right away.
We, as family members, friends, or even acquaintances, have lost someone special whom we didn't need to lose. We will stick together, through thick and thin. When it rains, snows, sleets, or hails. Through everything, we're here for support.
As a 14 year old, I realize you might think I don't know much, but I know enough to know what's going on and I'm old enough to know that no one deserves such pain. We all deserve love from someone and through this blog, through everything, we obviously love her dearly and love can fix a problem. It may take time, but it heals so much more when we help each other.
To everyone whom is taking their time to help out,I'm so thankful for you all. Thank you for making Heather's Voice a possibility and a reality and thank you for being here for my family in our time of need.
Sincerely,
Erica Young
